One of Indian River County’s most iconic and flavorful traditions is returning this week, offering residents and visitors a unique taste of Old Florida. The 35th Annual Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival is set to take over the Old School Complex in historic downtown Fellsmere from Thursday, January 15 through Sunday, January 18, 2026. Known statewide for its culinary adventurousness and small-town charm, this event is a must-visit for families across the Treasure Coast.
Drawing thousands of attendees annually, the festival has cemented itself as a staple of the local winter calendar. While the event offers plenty of standard fairground fun, the star of the show remains the famous dinners. Attendees can look forward to heaping plates of frog legs and gator tail, served alongside classic Southern sides. For those who prefer to enjoy their meal at home, the festival will once again offer its popular drive-thru service located at 21 South Cypress Street (note: the drive-thru is cash only).
Beyond the unique cuisine, the festival provides a full weekend of entertainment, including carnival rides, midway games, and live music, creating a vibrant atmosphere for all ages.
The festival serves as an important fundraiser supporting the area community and youth programs, ensuring that the fun contributes directly back to the well-being of Fellsmere and Indian River County residents.
If you are planning your visit, admission and parking are free for all four days of the event. The festivities will take place at the Old School Complex, 22 South Orange Street, Fellsmere, FL 32948.
Festival Schedule:
- Thursday & Friday: 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
This longstanding event is made possible through the support of local sponsors, including Marine Bank, Millennium Cremation Services, Custom Air Systems Inc., Indian River County, Marsh Landing, and Publix. Their contributions help keep the admission free, making this an accessible outing for everyone in the community.
Whether you are a long-time local who looks forward to this every January or a new resident curious to try your first frog leg, the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival offers a distinct slice of local culture just a short drive from Vero Beach.
