Vero Beach Museum of Art to Celebrate 40th Anniversary with Free Admission and Interactive Open House
Residents of Vero Beach and the surrounding Treasure Coast have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the local arts scene this February. The Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) has announced its annual Open House, scheduled for Saturday, February 14. This year’s event carries special significance as the cultural institution celebrates its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of artistic contribution to Indian River County.
Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event offers a comprehensive look at the Museum’s educational offerings and current exhibitions. In honor of the anniversary, admission to the Museum will be free for all guests throughout the day.
A Day of Live Demonstrations and Family Fun
The Museum grounds and studios are expected to be bustling with activity. According to event organizers, the Open House is designed to be highly interactive. Attendees will have the chance to meet the art school faculty and witness live demonstrations across a wide spectrum of artistic mediums.

For residents looking to transition from observer to creator, the Open House offers a significant financial incentive. The Museum is offering a 15% discount on tuition for Spring term classes for students who register in person on the day of the event.
Students registering in person on-site on February 14 will enjoy a 15% savings on tuition for Spring classes, excluding workshops and Cork, Canvas & Company offerings. Veterans receive an additional 15% discount on all classes.

For those unable to attend the Open House, registration for the Spring term opens online on Monday, February 2, at 9 a.m. The term includes a variety of five- and ten-week sessions available on both weekdays and weekends. Complete class schedules can be viewed at vbmuseum.org.

The free admission day also provides access to the Museum’s prestigious galleries. Visitors will be among the first to view the nationally touring exhibition, American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection.
Additionally, guests can explore the permanent collection exhibition titled Construction: from Abstraction to Architecture. These exhibits offer a diverse look at artistic expression, ranging from historical American works to structural abstract pieces.
