Thursday, February 19: Island Flavors and Folk Classics

The weekend kicks off with a tropical flair as The Arc of Indian River County hosts an Authentic Hawaiian Luau. This benefit event promises to bring true island culture to Vero Beach at the organization’s new pavilion located at 2455 5th St. SW.

The luau includes a full pig roast, traditional Hawaiian dishes, fire eaters, hula dancers, live music and family-friendly entertainment in support of programs for people with developmental disabilities.

For those looking for hidden treasures, the Community Church of Vero Beach is hosting its “Angels & Attic Rummage Sale.” The sale takes place in the Community Hall and courtyard at 1901 23rd St. and runs throughout the weekend:

  • Friday, Feb. 20: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 21: A Night of Galas

Saturday brings a trio of major fundraising dinners across the county, catering to various causes and tastes.

In Sebastian, The Buggy Bunch Annual Dinner takes place at Rock City Gardens (9080 U.S. 1) starting at 5 p.m. The evening begins with hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by a 6 p.m. dinner. The program will feature powerful testimonies and updates on the nonprofit’s work with local families. Tickets are $100; call 772-226-0066 for availability.

Meanwhile, at the Bent Pine Golf Club in Vero Beach, Breaking Chains Ministries will host their “From Chains to Crowns Gala” at 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy dinner, drinks, live music, and raffles.
