The United Way of Indian River County has officially announced the appointment of Akili Phillips as its new Director of Individual Giving. Operating out of Vero Beach, the prominent nonprofit organization continues its mission to bolster the health, education, and financial stability of the local community by adding experienced philanthropic leadership to its growing team.
Phillips arrives with a robust professional background, bringing more than seven years of dedicated nonprofit experience to the Treasure Coast. Prior to joining the Indian River County organization, she served in a vital leadership role at Family Promise of Brevard. During her tenure there, she successfully spearheaded comprehensive fundraising efforts with a strong emphasis on mission-aligned giving, community partnerships, and active donor engagement.
In her new capacity, Phillips will be responsible for leading the individual giving strategy for the organization. Her primary focus areas will include:
