Indian River County Conservation Efforts Receive $1 Million Boost from Local Philanthropists
Jim and Diana Cronin have announced a monumental long-term financial commitment to support the critical environmental conservation work of the Indian River Land Trust. The local philanthropists have pledged to contribute a minimum of $150,000 annually over the next five years to help preserve the region’s natural habitats. When combined with initial contributions set to begin in late 2025, their total financial support for the organization is expected to surpass $1 million.
These generous grants will be facilitated through the Cronin Nature Fund and the Fry and Cronin Foundation. The Cronin Nature Fund directly reflects the couple’s personal dedication to land conservation and the protection of local natural resources. The Fry and Cronin Foundation, established in recognition of their enduring relationship with Darryl and Marlene Fry, shares a philanthropic vision focused on advancing community-based initiatives, particularly those centered around nature and education.
The Indian River Land Trust acts as a crucial guardian of the region’s ecological health. The organization is heavily dedicated to:
