The American Cancer Society (ACS) Indian River County is thrilled to announce its 5th Annual Denim & Diamonds Hope Gala, a premier fundraising event set to illuminate Vero Beach this December. Presented by The Bernard A. Egan Foundation, this cherished community gathering promises an evening of heartfelt purpose, vibrant entertainment, and unwavering support for the fight against cancer. Mark your calendars for December 5, 2025, when Magnolia Manor will open its doors for this impactful occasion.
This year’s gala holds special significance as it honors 12-year-old Ramie Darling, a brave young resident of Vero Beach. Son of Ramie and Katie Darling of Darling Construction, Ramie’s journey is one of incredible resilience. Diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer at just nine years old, he has faced three cancer diagnoses, enduring intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and a liver transplant. Now, more than a year cancer-free, Ramie and his family are passionately committed to sharing their story, hoping to inspire generosity and raise critical funds for pediatric cancer research. Guests will witness Ramie’s powerful story through a special video presentation, followed by a moving “Call to the Heart”, inviting pledges specifically for pediatric cancer research. This segment is expected to be a profoundly touching moment, uniting the Vero Beach community in a shared mission of hope.
The evening will unfold with an engaging cocktail hour featuring the melodic talents of Nashville singer/songwriter Kurt Stevens. Following a gourmet dinner, an exciting live auction will take place before the “Call to the Heart.” As the formalities conclude, the energy will shift, and guests will be invited to celebrate the spirit of hope and giving, dancing the night away to the lively tunes of party band Riptide. It’s an opportunity to connect with fellow community members, all while contributing to a cause that touches so many lives in Indian River County and beyond.
The Denim & Diamonds Hope Gala is more than just an event; it’s a testament to the compassionate spirit of Vero Beach, bringing together individuals and businesses dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
