A morning commute in the Treasure Coast region took a dangerous turn, resulting in a serious arrest outside a local school. Port St. Lucie law enforcement officials apprehended a woman on multiple charges after she allegedly drove erratically with two young children in her vehicle.
On the morning of August 13, a concerned motorist dialed 911 to report a highly erratic driver. The witness safely followed the vehicle, providing critical real-time updates to emergency dispatchers. According to the caller, the suspect’s vehicle was completely failing to maintain its lane, repeatedly striking curbs, and nearly causing several traffic collisions along the way.
The witness continued providing updates to dispatchers as the vehicle traveled to Manatee Academy K-8, allowing officers to promptly intercept the driver upon arrival at the school.
Upon making contact at the school campus, officers identified the driver as Erin Pozner and confirmed the presence of two elementary school-aged children inside the car. After observing clear signs of possible impairment, law enforcement administered standardized field sobriety exercises. The on-site investigation was further supported by a certified drug recognition expert, and a blood sample was collected from the suspect for extensive toxicology testing.
Following the evaluation, Pozner was taken into custody and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail. She was officially booked on several offenses, which include:
- One count of driving under the influence.
- Two counts of DUI with a person under 18 in the vehicle.
