Vero Beach residents will soon have even more options for domestic travel, as Breeze Airways prepares to launch new flight routes from Vero Beach Regional Airport, including a convenient connection to the American West. Beginning September 30, passengers will be able to travel to the Provo and Salt Lake City area in Utah.
According to the airline’s website, the new cross-country journey will take approximately seven to eight hours. Passengers will enjoy a direct flight experience featuring a brief stop at Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., with no change of planes required.
Breeze Airways spokesperson Ryne Williams stated that starting in October, the layover location for this Utah-bound flight will alternate. Two days a week, the stopover will remain at Dulles, while the other two days will feature a stop at Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina.
Breeze Airways continues its expansion at Vero Beach Regional Airport, introducing a one-stop, no-plane-change flight to Utah alongside enhanced service to several Northeast and Midwest destinations.
The new flights to Utah are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with one-way tickets starting at $125. Return flights from Utah to Vero Beach will commence a day earlier, on September 29, with layovers similarly alternating between Washington and Raleigh.
This expansion is part of a broader strategy by the airline, which is headquartered just 16 miles south of Salt Lake City, to increase destination options for its Treasure Coast customer base. Williams noted that the Vero Beach market has seen immediate demand since passenger service began in 2023, adding that the local market perfectly fits the airline’s business model.
Beyond the new western route, Breeze Airways is significantly bolstering its local flight offerings:
- Raleigh, North Carolina: Service begins in May with flights twice a week, expanding to four times a week on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday during the peak travel month of October.
- South Bend, Indiana: Starting in October, passengers can travel to South Bend with a short 40-minute stopover in Washington, D.C.
- Syracuse, New York: Also launching in October, this route includes a three-hour layover in Raleigh.
These new destinations join the airline’s established nonstop flights from Vero Beach to cities such as Hartford, Connecticut; Islip, Newburgh, and White Plains, New York; New Haven, Connecticut; and Providence, Rhode Island. Additional connections via Washington, D.C., are also available to Ogdensburg, New York; Bristol, Tennessee; and Columbus, Ohio.
The increase in Breeze flights aligns with a broader surge in commercial aviation activity at Vero Beach Regional Airport. Competitors are also expanding to meet the strong local demand. In February, American Airlines introduced a daily nonstop flight from Vero Beach to its major hub in Charlotte, North Carolina. Furthermore, JetBlue Airways launched daily service in December to Boston and to New York City’s JFK International Airport, providing Treasure Coast flyers with an unprecedented array of air-travel options.
