Just a short drive north of Vero Beach, a dazzling new nighttime experience is set to transform the Brevard Zoo this spring. For residents of Indian River County looking for a unique evening excursion, “Illumi-Nature” promises a spectacle of light, art, and nature that extends well beyond the typical zoo visit.
Starting in mid-March, the Melbourne-based zoo will host more than 1,000 larger-than-life illuminated sculptures. The event is powered by LuminoCity Festival, a New York-based organization known for creating immersive light festivals that have attracted over a million visitors across the United States.
A Whimsical World of Light
The exhibition will feature over 500,000 glimmering lights spread across 10 acres of the zoo. Visitors can expect to stroll through whimsical displays depicting animals, flowers, and mythical creatures. A highlight of the experience includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes path dubbed “Glowing Gardens,” located off the zoo’s Wild Florida boardwalk.
Music will play throughout the park to enhance the festive atmosphere as guests explore the illuminated scenes. The event is designed not just as a visual display, but as an interactive journey connecting imagination with the natural world.
βWeβre so excited to bring an event of this nature to our guests. We are committed to bringing unique experiences to the Space Coast not only to entertain, but also to fulfill our mission of connecting people to nature.β β Anthony Rivera, Chief Operating Officer of Brevard Zoo
