Treasure Coast coffee enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the region’s first-ever Dutch Bros location will have to wait just a little bit longer for their handcrafted beverages. The popular drive-thru coffee chain, currently constructing a new shop in Fort Pierce, has officially adjusted its expected opening timeline.
Originally slated to open its doors to the local community in May or June, the highly anticipated launch has been pushed back. According to commercial real estate brokerage firm Alpha Real Estate Advisors, the new target month is August. However, a spokesperson for Dutch Bros recently clarified that the store remains firmly on track to welcome its first guests by the end of the year.
The Treasure Coast’s inaugural Dutch Bros drive-thru in Fort Pierce has delayed its grand opening from early summer to later this year, transforming a former fast-food footprint into a new destination for specialty coffee and energy drinks.
The new drive-thru will be conveniently located at 2050 S. U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce, revitalizing the site of a former Checkers restaurant that closed its doors in 2023. Local residents likely noticed the demolition of the old building back in February, clearing the way for the signature Dutch Bros building. For those making the short drive down the U.S. 1 corridor from Vero Beach and Indian River County, this location will soon serve as the closest access point to the rapidly expanding brand.
Founded as a humble pushcart in Grants Pass, Oregon, in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma, Dutch Bros has grown into a nationwide favorite, boasting over 1,043 stores across 17 states as of 2025.
When the Fort Pierce location ultimately opens, Treasure Coast locals can look forward to a diverse menu that goes far beyond standard drip coffee. Menu highlights include:
- Classic Coffees: Lattes, mochas, cold brews, americanos, and nitro coffee.
- Dutch Faves: Signature sweet creations like the Caramelizer, Golden Eagle, 9-1-1, Cocomo, Kicker, and Annihilator.
- Specialty Beverages: The brand’s exclusive Dutch Bros Rebel energy drinks, blended drinks, and protein coffees.
- Caffeine-Free & Alternatives: Lemonades, iced teas, chai lattes, shakes, smoothies, hot cocoa, and sparkling sodas.
- Light Bites: Grab-and-go snacks including muffin tops and granola bars.
Whether you are a Vero Beach commuter passing through Fort Pierce or a local looking to shake up your morning routine, the upcoming arrival promises to bring a vibrant new energy to the Treasure Coast beverage scene. Locals can expect to see construction rapidly progressing toward the newly updated opening window.
