Historic Fort Pierce Landmark Transformed into Downtown Dining Destination
The Treasure Coast culinary scene is expanding as a beloved Fort Pierce landmark enters a brand-new chapter. The historic Boston House, a downtown staple for over a century, has officially reopened its doors. The iconic property is now offering residents and visitors a unique dining experience that honors the city’s rich past while breathing fresh energy into the community.
Located along South Indian River Drive, the home was originally built in 1909 by an engineer for Henry Flagler’s famous Florida East Coast Railway. This prominent early resident later became the third sheriff of St. Lucie County, cementing the building’s deep ties to the regional development of the Treasure Coast. Today, the property rightfully holds a spot on the National Register of Historic Places.
Co-owner Georgette Angelos and General Manager Scott Laird have focused heavily on preserving the home’s original charm. During recent renovations, the ownership team intentionally retained authentic architectural details, ensuring the space feels both historic and welcoming to modern diners.
“It’s keeping the authenticity so intact while also bringing a new breath of fresh air into the town that’s so necessary right now,” stated co-owner Georgette Angelos.
Guests visiting the newly reimagined Boston House can expect a carefully curated environment. Highlights of the preservation and dining experience include:
- A warm, welcoming atmosphere designed to make diners feel instantly at home.
- Carefully preserved historical features, including original low ceilings and classic Florida-themed law books that nod to the building’s storied past.
- Distinct, room-by-room dining experiences that seamlessly blend local St. Lucie County history with a modern culinary approach.
As downtown Fort Pierce continues to experience an ongoing revitalization, the reopening of this historic property reflects the area’s broader momentum. The Boston House now stands as a testament to the Treasure Coast’s commitment to shining a spotlight on its local history, serving up an exciting new gathering place for the community.
