Following a recent rollover crash in Martin County, new details have emerged regarding the arrest of 50-year-old golf legend Tiger Woods. The incident, which took place on Jupiter Island along the Treasure Coast, has drawn public commentary from Donald Trump, who recently spoke with Woods and shared insights into the athlete’s ongoing physical struggles.

Woods is currently facing charges of driving under the influence with property damage, as well as a refusal to submit to a lawful test. The crash occurred on March 27 near his Jupiter Island home. According to the official police report released on March 31 by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Woods was taken into custody after a deputy observed clear signs of impairment. Following his arrest, he was released from jail later that night and transported home in a private vehicle.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office report outlined several specific observations from the scene:

  • Woods’ eyes were described as bloodshot and glassy, with extremely dilated pupils.
  • He tested negative for alcohol and explicitly told the deputy he had consumed none.
  • When questioned about prescription medication, Woods admitted to taking a few pills that morning.
  • Authorities found him in possession of two pills, which were subsequently identified as hydrocodone.
  • During field sobriety exercises, Woods reportedly had difficulty following directions and required repeated reminders from the responding deputy.

Based on these roadside observations, the deputy concluded that Woods’ normal faculties were impaired, rendering him unable to safely operate a motor vehicle. This incident marks the second time since 2021 that Woods has been involved in a rollover crash, and his second DUI-related arrest since 2017.

Speaking to the New York Post, Donald Trump, a Palm Beach resident, spoke out in support of Woods. Trump emphasized that the golfer does not have an alcohol problem, but rather endures severe daily discomfort. Trump noted that Woods is under tremendous physical pressure stemming from extensive back and leg injuries.

He lives a life of pain, Trump stated in the interview. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain.

Woods, who is currently dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., has a well-documented history of physical ailments. The champion golfer underwent his seventh back surgery this past October, coming just seven months after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon. Despite the recent arrest and physical hurdles, Trump expressed optimism, noting that he believes Woods is ultimately doing well.

Tiger Woods faces DUI and property damage charges following a March 27 rollover crash in Martin County. While testing negative for alcohol, official police reports indicate impairment linked to prescription medication—a situation Donald Trump publicly attributes to the athlete’s ongoing battle with severe physical pain following numerous extensive surgeries.
