The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) has issued an urgent public appeal for assistance in locating a missing teenager in Vero Beach. Authorities are actively searching for Shayla Vickery, a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing by her family earlier this week.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Vickery was last seen leaving her home on Monday night at approximately 9:00 p.m. Deputies have focused their search efforts on the central Vero Beach area, specifically noting that she is believed to be heading east near the intersection of 12th Street and 20th Avenue. Residents and business owners in this vicinity are encouraged to remain vigilant and check any security camera footage from Monday night onward.
To assist the community in identifying her, investigators have released specific details regarding her appearance and clothing:
Shayla Vickery is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a distinctive black shirt featuring the artist Bob Ross, paired with black shorts.
Local law enforcement officials are asking anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward immediately to ensure the teen’s safe return.
