Vero Beach’s Newest Entertainment Destination: Hogan Yards Prepares to Open Doors

The Vero Beach entertainment and dining scene is about to receive a massive upgrade with the highly anticipated opening of Hogan Yards. Slated to open in late May or early June, this unique, multi-faceted entertainment complex will breathe new life into the historic former Hogan & Sons citrus packing house located near the Vero Beach Regional Airport.

Spanning an impressive footprint at 2745 St. Lucie Avenue, Hogan Yards promises to be a premier community hub. The venue will feature a dynamic mix of indoor and outdoor attractions, offering visitors covered pickleball courts, live music, yard games, craft citrus beer, and authentic Texas-style barbecue.

A Tri-Family Local Collaboration

The ambitious project is the result of nearly three years of planning by three prominent local families who have combined their distinct culinary and real estate expertise:

  • The Corrs: Tom and Tiffany Corr serve as the property owners and visionaries behind the complex. Tom Corr purchased the 35,000-square-foot packing house, originally built in 1972, through his Packing House Collective in 2021.
  • The Bings: Alden and Valerie Bing are bringing the beloved craft beverages of Orchid Island Brewery back to a dedicated local space, featuring signature local brews like their Indian River Grapefruit and Star Ruby IPAs.
  • The Chianises: John and Heather Chianis are relocating their popular Pepper & Salt BBQ operation to provide the culinary foundation for the new complex.

Culinary Offerings and Citrus Heritage

Food enthusiasts can look forward to Pepper & Salt BBQ’s staple menu items alongside exciting new additions, including a brisket Cuban sandwich and a barbecue-inspired banh mi. While the main restaurant and catering operations are shifting to Hogan Yards, the adjacent Pepper & Salt MKT on Old Dixie Highway will remain open to serve local patrons coffee and breakfast.

Beyond food and drink, Hogan Yards is heavily focused on preserving and celebrating Indian River County’s rich agricultural heritage. The three-acre property backs directly up to Indian River Farms and features an existing orange grove at the rear of the lot. Corr has expressed plans to plant additional citrus trees, incorporating an agritourism element into the guest experience to honor the region’s historically significant citrus industry.

“It’s a mixture of super crazy excitement … along with being nervous. We’ve been working on this for almost 3 years.”

Drawing inspiration from his global travels, Tom Corr envisions the brewery as a family-friendly destination where the community can gather to socialize, play, and eat, noting that such venues often serve as true hubs of the community.
