The connection between Monds and Florida State has been building steadily. The recruitment efforts intensified after Monds attended a 7-on-7 camp in June 2024, where his performance earned him a scholarship offer. More recently, Monds made his first trip to the FSU campus on January 17 for their Junior Day event.
Local Talent on the National Stage
Monds is currently ranked as the No. 254 overall prospect and the No. 17 quarterback in the nation, according to 247Sports composite rankings. Within the Sunshine State, he is listed as the No. 28 recruit. Despite battling injuries during the 2025 season, his efficiency on the field remained impressive. Monds completed 71.4% of his passes for 691 yards and seven touchdowns without throwing a single interception.
His potential was evident early on during a highly productive freshman season, where he posted remarkable numbers:

Florida State may hold a distinct advantage in Monds’ recruitment due to existing ties with the Fighting Indians program. Monds is former teammates with wide receiver Efrem White and cornerback Jordan Crutchfield, both of whom are Class of 2026 signees for the Seminoles. This trio contributed to a stellar season for Vero Beach High School, which finished with a 14-1 record and a run to the state title game.
As the recruiting cycle continues, all eyes in Indian River County will be on Monds to see if he chooses to reunite with his former teammates at the next level. For now, the sight of a helicopter landing in Vero Beach serves as a testament to the high caliber of football talent being cultivated right here in our community.
