Local classical music enthusiasts and community supporters are in for a treat this coming weekend as the Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra prepares to launch its new season. This highly anticipated event promises an afternoon of sophisticated symphonic performances right here in Indian River County.
The concert is scheduled for Sunday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. and will take place at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. Under the expert direction of Maestro Michael Simpson, the orchestra has curated a program featuring some of the most celebrated works in the classical repertoire.
The afternoon’s lineup includes the dramatic energy of Bizet’s Carmen and the iconic power of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. A special highlight of the event will be a performance of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, featuring the talents of Jess Mott, the winner of the high school concerto competition. This selection underscores the orchestra’s commitment to highlighting emerging local talent.
The concert is free but donations to support our scholarships and expenses are appreciated.
This event serves as an excellent opportunity for residents to enjoy high-quality live music without the cost of a ticket. While admission is free to the public, attendees are encouraged to make donations. These contributions are vital for covering the orchestra’s operating expenses and funding scholarships that help sustain the musical arts in the Vero Beach community.
