The draft plan looks beyond the port’s traditional yacht maintenance operations, laying out how Fort Pierce could support the vessels and waterfront infrastructure needed to recover reusable rockets launched from the Space Coast.
Driven by the rapid expansion of reusable rocket technology, Port Canaveral—currently the primary hub for such operations—is experiencing significant pressure and a high demand for berths, staging spaces, and heavy-lift infrastructure. To alleviate this bottleneck, the Port of Fort Pierce is stepping up as an ideal alternative.
