Childcare Resources of Indian River has successfully secured an $850,000 appropriation in the 2026-2027 Florida state budget. This substantial funding will be directed toward the development of a brand-new downtown campus, marking a transformative step forward for local working families and the revitalization of the city center.
Advocated for by Representative Robert Brackett and Senator Debbie Mayfield, this initiative was championed as a crucial component for maintaining a robust local economy in Indian River County. The expansion of accessible, high-quality childcare allows parents to confidently remain in the workforce while ensuring their children receive top-tier early education.
The $850,000 state appropriation will fund a new downtown Vero Beach campus for Childcare Resources of Indian River, simultaneously expanding early education access, supporting working parents, and boosting daily foot traffic for surrounding local businesses.
The forthcoming downtown campus is designed to operate as a model of early childhood excellence. Childcare Resources plans to implement an innovative three programs in one approach that houses multiple essential services under one roof. The new facility will specifically focus on:

- Offering critical wellness and early intervention services to support overall family health.
- Delivering professional development opportunities to elevate the skills and careers of early educators across the Treasure Coast.
