Ballet Vero Beach is gearing up for an exhilarating season finale with its upcoming production of Spring Flings. The program features George Balanchine’s original version of Valse Fantaisie (1953), which makes its company premiere alongside Adam Schnell’s flirty ABBAsolutely, and Matthew Lovegood’s lush and windswept Caprice.
The diverse repertoire ensures an engaging experience for all attendees. Adam Schnell’s captivating choreography in ABBAsolutely is famously set to the infectious music of the iconic Swedish pop group, adding a contemporary flair to the classical foundation. Additionally, the return of Matthew Lovegood’s Caprice brings back a fan-favorite performance after an absence of several seasons, giving audiences an extra touch of panache to close out the year.
For those planning to attend the live events, the performances are scheduled across two prominent local venues:
- Weekend One: Showings will occur on Friday, May 15, at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m. These performances will be hosted at the McAlpin Fine Arts Center, located on the campus of Indian River State College in Fort Pierce.
- Weekend Two: The ballet moves to Vero Beach for shows on Friday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 23, with dual performances at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the esteemed Riverside Theatre.
