Residents and visitors of the Treasure Coast are in for a spectacular evening of global melodies as the Vero Beach International Music Festival returns this spring. On Friday, April 24, 2026, local music enthusiasts can experience a remarkable collaboration between two world-renowned musicians right in the heart of Indian River County.

The highly anticipated concert will take place at 7:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach, located at 520 Royal Palm Boulevard. This year, the stage will be graced by US National Scottish Fiddle Champion Hanneke Cassel and Grammy-winning cellist Mike Block. Cassel, who boasts six acclaimed solo albums, will headline the evening’s performance, while Block will join her for a series of captivating duets.

Attendees can look forward to a vibrant presentation of both original and traditional music. The acclaimed duo will weave together a rich tapestry of sounds drawn directly from Celtic, Scandinavian, Americana, and Classical backgrounds, continuing the festival’s rich history of bringing diverse global music to Vero Beach.

Tickets for the Vero Beach International Music Festival concert are priced at $25. They can be conveniently pre-ordered online at VeroBeachInternationalMusicFestival.com or purchased directly at the door. More than just an evening of stellar entertainment, the concert serves a vital community purpose. Donations will be warmly accepted throughout the evening to support the Mike Block String Camp Scholarship Fund.

Mike Block, a Juilliard School graduate celebrated for his multi-style cello playing and passion for cross-cultural collaborations, established the Mike Block String Camp in Vero Beach in 2010. The camp offers an immersive summer workshop, scheduled this year to run from July 6 through July 11.

Our string camp is an annual summer workshop for string players of all ages and backgrounds, focusing on non-classical traditions and contemporary musical styles. With emphasis on learning by ear, creativity, collaboration, and performance each year is an enriching experience for attendees.

The educational program is uniquely structured to cater to a diverse group of musicians, providing level-based classes for:

  • Middle school and high school students
  • College music students
  • Amateur adults
  • Professional musicians
  • Over the years, the celebrated string camp has drawn not only local talent from Vero Beach and across Florida but also international participants from countries spanning the globe, including China, Australia, Sweden, and Latvia. This summer, concert headliner Hanneke Cassel will also be lending her exceptional expertise as an instructor at the camp.

For those interested in participating in this immersive musical workshop, online registration for the 2026 Mike Block String Camp is currently open. For additional details regarding the upcoming April concert, community members can call 216-965-7593.
