Local authorities are reaching out to the community for immediate assistance in locating a missing Vero Beach resident. Nearly a month has passed since forty-six-year-old Pierre Cauvin was last heard from, and investigators are urging residents across the Treasure Coast to remain vigilant.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for 46-year-old Pierre Cauvin of Vero Beach, who originally disappeared from his home on May 29 and was later spotted near a Fort Pierce hospital before vanishing again.
According to deputies from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Cauvin was initially reported missing from his residence located in the 800 block of 28th Avenue in Vero Beach. The reporting party stated that he was last seen at the property at 8:00 a.m. on May 29. At the time of his initial disappearance, officials believe he was wearing a white shirt and gray shorts.
While the initial search naturally focused on the immediate Vero Beach area, the scope of the investigation has recently expanded south into neighboring St. Lucie County. Law enforcement officials confirmed that Cauvin was seen in the vicinity of Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce on June 7. Unfortunately, he left the medical facility’s area traveling in an unknown direction, and authorities have not reported any verified public sightings since that day.
To aid in the search, the sheriff’s office has provided the following physical description for the missing man:
- Height: 6 feet 4 inches
- Weight: Approximately 155 pounds
- Distinguishing Features: A recognizable zodiac tattoo located on one of his arms
