The Vero Beach real estate market continues to be driven by profound local expertise and deep-rooted community connections. According to the latest data from the respected industry ranking firm Real Trends, which recently expanded its comprehensive annual analysis to focus on individual cities, familiar names continue to dominate the Indian River County property landscape. Despite a recent influx of high-profile national brokerages and new agents flocking to the Treasure Coast, established local professionals have maintained a formidable grip on the island’s luxury market.
At the individual level, Matilde Sorensen of Dale Sorensen Real Estate once again secured the top position for 2025. Demonstrating an exceptional year in luxury property transactions, Sorensen recorded $165.7 million in total sales. This impressive figure not only positioned her as the number one agent in Vero Beach—outpacing the second-place agent by nearly three times—but also earned her the high distinction of being the 22nd highest-ranked agent in the entire state of Florida.
Sorensen’s success reflects a broader trend of market dominance by Dale Sorensen Real Estate, a family-owned brokerage established on the barrier island by Dale Sorensen Sr. in the 1970s. Remarkably, four of the top five individual agents in Vero Beach operate under this banner. The top five individual real estate performers for the year include:
- Matilde Sorensen (Dale Sorensen Real Estate) securing the top spot with $165.7 million in sales.
- Cathy Curley (Dale Sorensen Real Estate) taking the second position with $58.8 million in completed transactions.
- Luke Webb (Luke Webb & Associates), an independent founder and broker who broke into the top tier at number three, closing $54.3 million in deals.
- Elizabeth Sorensen (Dale Sorensen Real Estate) landing in fourth place with $47.3 million.
- Christine Hughes (Dale Sorensen Real Estate) rounding out the top five with $30.2 million in successful property sales.
In addition to individual agents, Real Trends categorized market performance by team size. In the small team category, defined as groups consisting of three to five agents, the Brown Talley Group at Premier Estate Properties took the lead. Founded by veteran island agent Kay Brown and bolstered by the expertise of Melissa Talley, the group achieved an impressive $80.3 million in sales. They were followed by the Daley Group at Douglas Elliman, led by Sally Daley, which posted $49.8 million in total deals.
For medium-sized teams, comprising six to ten agents, the O’Dare Boga Dobson Group at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty captured the top spot with a staggering $150 million in sales. Cindy O’Dare and Richard Boga are well-known for handling some of the most exclusive properties on the Treasure Coast. Their portfolio notably included a record-breaking 15,900-square-foot estate located at 1920 A1A in the Estate Section. Featuring seven bedrooms and fourteen bathrooms, the property sold for $27 million, marking the highest residential sale price ever recorded in Indian River County history.
Among the mega-teams—those operating with twenty-one to fifty agents—The Reynolds Group at Compass led the Vero Beach market by closing an exceptional $245.2 million in sales volume.
While these rankings provide a comprehensive overview of the competitive Vero Beach market, it is important to note that the robust sales figures from John’s Island Real Estate were not included in the Real Trends data, as the specialized brokerage does not list its exclusive properties on the local multiple listing service (MLS).
