Residents of Vero Beach and the wider Treasure Coast will soon experience a modernized grocery shopping experience, as Walmart has announced a massive wave of store redesigns planned for 2026. As part of a nationwide corporate initiative to overhaul more than 650 Walmart Supercenters and Walmart Neighborhood Markets, nearly 60 locations across Florida have been selected for extensive aesthetic and operational makeovers.
Locally, Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin counties are slated for significant retail upgrades. In Vero Beach, the Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 1750 US 1 is officially on the 2026 remodeling roster. This upcoming project follows closely on the heels of the recent “Store of the Future” transformations, an earlier modernization phase that included the Vero Beach Walmart Supercenter at 5555 20th St. and the Fort Pierce location at 5100 Okeechobee Road.
The wider Treasure Coast region will see several other locations completely revamped to improve customer convenience and store flow. The 2026 regional remodeling plan includes the following local stores:
- Vero Beach: Walmart Neighborhood Market, 1750 US 1
- Port St. Lucie: Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3045 SW Port St Lucie Blvd.
- Port St. Lucie: Walmart Supercenter, 1850 SW Gatlin Blvd.
- Port St. Lucie: Walmart Neighborhood Market, 902 SW Saint Lucie West Blvd.
- Port St. Lucie: Walmart Supercenter, 1675 NW Saint Lucie West Blvd.
- Stuart: Walmart Supercenter, 4001 SE Federal Highway
The redesigned stores are strategically crafted to make in-store shopping faster and digital integration completely seamless. Treasure Coast shoppers can anticipate entirely new floor layouts, upgraded pharmacies, and enhanced vision centers offering complimentary cleanings and adjustments. Furthermore, interactive displays will be introduced to help customers visualize home products, while backend logistical improvements aim to facilitate ultra-fast local deliveries in as little as an hour for most customers.
By modernizing our store, we’re making shopping easier, whether customers are walking the aisles, picking up an order on the go, or having essentials delivered when life gets busy. We’re proud of our legacy here and look forward to helping families save time and live better every day.
This large-scale modernization effort reflects a highly competitive grocery and retail environment across Florida. Local competitors are also heavily investing in store upgrades to attract and retain shoppers. Publix Supermarkets has been undertaking total rebuilds and expansions to incorporate wider aisles, self-checkout, and enhanced curbside pickup options. Meanwhile, Aldi continues its aggressive expansion by converting newly purchased Winn-Dixie locations into its streamlined, cost-effective format. For Vero Beach and Treasure Coast residents, these massive capital investments signal a rapidly evolving, high-tech retail landscape designed for maximum convenience over the next few years.
