Vero Beach’s premier performing arts venue is gearing up for a spectacular new season. Riverside Theatre is set to launch its 2026–2027 professional schedule with the highly anticipated Southeast premiere of My Vaudeville Man!. Running from October 15 through November 22, 2026, this intimate and moving musical promises to bring world-class entertainment right to the heart of the Treasure Coast.

Based on the captivating true story of early 20th-century performer Jack Donahue, the musical explores the complex dynamic between the determined young song-and-dance man and his fierce, protective mother, Mud. Audiences will be transported back to the golden age of live entertainment, following Jack’s journey from his humble working-class roots to the dazzling, yet demanding, vaudeville circuit. The show masterfully balances showstopping tap dance numbers, including the highly inventive “Tap Drunk,” with tender, emotional duets that highlight the sacrifices required to achieve greatness.

The Vero Beach production boasts an impressive roster of Broadway and international talent:

  • Joseph Cullinane: Returning to the Riverside stage, the Joffrey Ballet School faculty member stars as the ambitious Jack Donahue, while also serving as the show’s associate choreographer.
  • Terra C. MacLeod: Renowned for her acclaimed portrayal of Velma Kelly in Chicago on Broadway and in London’s West End, MacLeod makes her Riverside debut as Jack’s strong-willed mother.
  • Richard Stafford: The production is expertly directed and choreographed by Stafford, who brings the show’s intricate tap sequences and heartfelt solos to life.

With music direction by Milton Granger, and a creative foundation featuring a book by Jeff Hochhauser with music and lyrics by Bob Johnston and Hochhauser, the performance is poised to be a standout cultural event for Indian River County.

This production is an ideal way to begin our professional season. It has the energy and entertainment of great musical theatre, but at its heart is a story many families will recognize: the tension between wanting to protect someone you love and allowing that person to pursue a life of their own.

True to Riverside Theatre’s longstanding commitment to the Vero Beach community, My Vaudeville Man! is generously backed by local sponsors. Support comes from Bobbie Olsen and the Theatre’s Patron Producers, along with prominent local businesses such as Proctor Construction Company, Dale Sorensen Real Estate, The Sihle Insurance Group of Vero Beach, and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.

Theater enthusiasts, local residents, and visitors looking to experience the vibrant arts and lifestyle scene of Vero Beach can catch the performance at the Riverside Theatre, conveniently located at 3250 Riverside Park Drive.
